My creative process takes on many forms. My ceramic work has a great deal of visual connection to my mixed media work. My drawings and paintings draw largely on intuitive letterforms and calligraphy. I often work that onto the body of my cups. My influences span from cuneiform to Islamic calligraphy to letter forms and from my time in the sign making industry. As a designer, I learned to appreciate letters as shapes and words as collections of shapes - oftentimes without meaning. Ironically, I find realism and the perfect symmetry of thrown pottery to offer less meaning because of its more mechanical nature.
